I’m Wendy Brant!

Welcome to Smarter Photographs!

I’m Wendy, and I’m so glad you’re here. Photography has been a lifelong love of mine, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than helping others tap into their own creativity—especially with something as accessible and powerful as a phone camera.

My journey began with a BBA from the University of Miami, where I majored in finance, marketing, and management. After my traditional business education, it wasn’t long before I followed my creative instincts to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I earned a photography degree and was lucky enough to win honors for both academics and best portfolio! For over 15 years, I built an exciting career in professional photography through my own studio’s work. I enjoyed creating images for fashion, advertising, events, and portraiture. My work has appeared in several magazines and even earned me a number of honors including an ADDY Award for advertising excellence.

Though I was classically trained in film photography and spent years behind traditional cameras, I’ve happily traded all that gear for the simplicity of my phone camera! I’ve been incredibly blessed traveling across the globe, from Antarctica and New Zealand to Europe, Canada and Japan—capturing unforgettable moments with just a few taps. What continues to amaze me is how, with a little know-how, your phone can do so much more than just document memories. It can help you tell stories, express emotion, and create art.

Here’s the fun part and what makes me a relatable instructor - I was never formally trained in digital photography. Honestly, technology can still intimidate me. But that’s exactly why I love teaching this information. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, and I’ve developed easy, encouraging ways to help anyone—no matter their experience or comfort level—feel confident behind the lens of their mobile phone.

I’m here to help you feel confident, creative, and excited about what the basic camera on your smart phone can do. Whether you’re capturing a family vacation, your favorite dessert, a beloved pet, or the people you love most, your images will be more thoughtful, more intentional — essentially smarter photographs.
